In Bloom Bundle
It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge. This week it is a color challenge.
Old Olive is one of my go to colors especially for leaves so I was immediately sent down the flower and leaves path. I love the look of the Pierced Blooms dies. I like that there are so many different sizes and shapes of flowers and leaves in this die set.
I love flower arranging, paper flowers that is. I am no good with live flowers but give me some paper blooms and I will happily fiddle with them.
Tip: When I have a color challenge I go through my embellishments including ribbon and pull out the items in the challenge colors. I also do the same with DSP (Designer Series Paper). This helps me see my options and reminds me of what I have in my stash.
I only had the In Color Enamel Dots in Bumblebee. I focused on what embellishments I had in Bumblebee because there isn't a Stampin' Blend for that color. I colored the Misty Moonlight enamel dot with the Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend and it looks great. If I didn't have an embellishment that worked I would have used a rhinestone or pearl.
The DSP I pulled was the In Color 6" x 6" DSP. I used it for the layer. The tiny print adds interest without adding bulk or being too distracting.
The frame was cut using a die from Stitched So Sweetly set and a Stitched Rectangle die. The sentiment is from the In Bloom stamp set which is the stamp component in the In Bloom bundle with the Pierced Blooms die. I had an extra Bumblebee bloom so I decorated the inside of my card along with a strip of the DSP I used.
