Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #CCMC411
It is Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! Today it is a sketch challenge. I found this sketch to be well, a challenge!
I played around with a bunch of other ideas. I think the double greeting was throwing me until I remembered the Christmas Greetings Thinlits and the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set. Once I had that in mind everything else fell into place.
This is my second Christmas card of 2016! Every year I say that I need to start my Christmas cards earlier and every year I am madly trying to get them done at the last minute. It is June and I already have 2 made, not a huge accomplishment but a start.
I cut the word peace out of Silver Glimmer paper and used slivers of dimensional to adhere to the card. I wanted it to stand out and emphasize the sentiment.
I used the Layering Squares Framelits to cut the squares of Shimmery White and Dapper Denim card stock. I embossed the snowflake on Dapper Denim card stock and punched them out using the Snow Flurry punch. It is hard to see but I mixed White embossing powder with Dazzling Diamond glitter, to give my snowflake a little sparkle.
Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what the others on the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge team made. They are brilliant and made some lovely cards.
Your snowflakes are gorgeous, Sharon! Great colors and FABULOUS interpretation of the sketch! I love how you put it all together.
Very nice Connie. Good idea of starting early.
Love it! Perfect winter card…refreshing when it is 90+ degrees outside!
The colors and sparkle work so great together! Love your Christmas take on the sketch this week!
What a lovely card Sharon – your snowflakes are so pretty and look great with this sketch layout. You are also far too organised, preparing for Christmas already!!!
Such a great wintery fun card! I love how you used the sketch this week!
It’s so fun to see Christmas cards at this time of year when we aren’t yet feeling the pressure to have them done! Yours is beautiful – how fabulous to add glitter to the embossing powder! A great creative inspiration, and I am also inspired to make something for Christmas now.
So beautiful Sharon. I just love this colour scheme for Christmas cards and the sentiment is just prefect!
